Helping women find a stable home
Helping women find a stable home
Our Transitional Housing Support Program helps women access safe and affordable housing so they can leave violence, poverty, and homelessness behind for good. Here’s how we help.
Eviction Prevention
Some landlords use intimidation to force vulnerable women from their properties without following legal protocols. We inform women of their rights, and advocate for them with their landlords to help them stay housed. We also take a proactive approach to the crisis of women facing homelessness by leading housing workshops at community drop-in centres to raise awareness of tenant rights.
Safety Planning, Crisis Support, and Advocacy
We work with women and children to develop individual safety plans, and provide crisis support and advocacy when they are living with violence or are at risk of becoming homeless.
Applying for Subsidized Housing
To help women secure safe, affordable housing, we assist them through the application process for subsidized housing in Toronto, as well as Peel, Durham, and York regions.
Accessing Community Resources
When women find a new home, we connect them with local resources, so they can access the support and tools they need to establish themselves in the community.
Setting Up a New Home
Through our agency partnerships, our team assists with finding furniture and household items to help a house feel like a home.
